What is puff printing?

Puff is the printing type which by microsphere foaming inks are screen printed on paper or silk, and heated to obtain a bulging graphic or Braille reading material. Puff printed patterns have a good concave-convex effect. The puff printing is divided into oil-based and water-based. 

Our puff printing is first through the flat screen machine to the required pattern of the base paste printed and then low temperature drying, and then the foaming machine through a certain temperature, pressure, puff time (speed) and so on the printing pattern. It has a raised hand fell. The fastness of oil-based way is better than water-based way (the fastness of the puff process is related to the height of the foaming, the higher the puff, the lower the fastness, and vice versa is higher). The oil-based puff is also better controlled and is also suitable for printing puff products with slightly thin pattern lines or letters. 

Process advantages.
Strong raised effect, can be clearly felt, good hand feeling, relatively fluffy, elastic, a variety of colors available, large pattern is accetpable, can send high bubble. The raised part works well, the water-based way is odorless and more environmentally friendly.

Process shortcomings.
(1) Sometimes there is inconsistent foaming height.
(2) The fastness is not better than ink screen pint.
(3) Small patterns are easy to block.
(4) The closely pattern is easier to paste out.
(5) If the font is small and requires a three-dimensional feel, it is recommended to print by plastisol way.
Applicable ribbons : Single or double side satin ribbon,  cotton ribbon, sheer ribbon. The elastic band is not suitable for the puff printing types.
